The Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department at GEHU, Dehradun possesses various laboratories where students learn and design circuits with the freedom to implement their own ideas and bring them to life. These laboratories cover Basic Electrical Engineering Lab, Network Analysis and Synthesis Lab, Electrical Measurements Lab, Electromechanical Energy Conversion Lab, Power System Analysis Lab and Control and Computing Laboratory.
All Labs are well equipped with measuring instruments of high precision and accuracy. These include digital instruments such as Multimeters, DSO (Digital Storage Oscilloscope), Power Analyzer as well as analog instruments such as PMMC Ammeter, Voltmeter, Electrodynamometer type Wattmeter and Single Phase Energy-meter. The Simulation Lab covers software based experiments which include packages like Matlab and Orcad- PSpice which provide students an alternate dimension to think and design on their own and predict the output using simulations. Moreover, the EEE department students are fortunate enough to have a wonderful Electromechanical Energy Conversion Lab where they learn, test and play with electrical machines; the machines which have now become an important part of our day to day lives.
In order to provide the practical exposure to students the department ensures educational and industrial visits at regular intervals. Knowledge trips have been organized to Tehri Hydropower Project, BSNL etc and various other organizations where students got the knowledge.
