    A 1 Day Workshop on Economic Cyber Security at GEHU in association with USAC

    A One- Day National Conclave on Cyber Security & its Challenges was organized by Uttarakhand Space Application Center (USAC)  in association with Department of Information and Technology, GEHU & Government of Uttarakhand on August 13, 2015 to discuss preventive measures that can be take to stop Economic Cyber Crimes in the state and in turn the nation.

    The Chief Secretary for the state of Uttarakhand, Sri Rakesh Sharma emphasized the need to introduce courses at the University level aimed at preventing and hindering Economic Cyber Crimes. Graphic Era Group of Universities took the initiative to cater to the need of the nation by offering requisite courses to stop the same.

    1160 job offers before completion of degree at Graphic Era

    Aspiring graduates jubiliant on reciept of job offers before completion of their degree

    Graphic Era Educational Society, encompassing Graphic Era Hill University and Graphic Era University, saw 144 more placement offers distributed to their students bringing the total number to 1160. Simultaneously, Graphic Era played host to the Indian Army Officials who came for the Pre-final selection of students for their recruitment drive. A highlight of placements for this year was the placement of the first passing out batch of BCom (Hons) of Graphic Era Hill University at several eminent organizations. Chancellor, Graphic Era Hill University- Prof Dr Kamal Ghanshala congratulated all the students and gave them his best wishes for success in their future.

    GEHU and GEU Cadets got the First Position in the Overall Championship at the National Integration Camp

    In the National Integration Camp organized by National Cadet Corps (NCC) saw cadets representing Uttarakhand from the GEHU and Graphic Era unit prevail and bag the first position in the overall championship.

    This National Integration Camp, organized in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh saw 16 students, inclusing 6 female students, from GEHU and Graphic Era bag the Championship among the other 24 units participating on account of their phenomenal performance and skills. An educator from Graphic Era, D C Pandey was awarded the Best A.N.O at this National Integration Camp. In the students, Mayur Pandey and Gayatri Sharma were awarded the Best Debater at this camp. Additionally, Cadets Tarun Tiwari & Sergeant Gaurav claimed the first position in the Presentation Section of this camp.

    Chancellor, GEHU- Dr Kamal Ghanshala commended this unit for bringing Uttarakhand to the forefront on a National level.

    928 students of Graphic Era placed so far in various international and national organizations of repute

    928 students of Graphic Era have been placed so far in various international and national organizations of repute some of  which were Infosys, Wipro Technologies, Unisys and Vodafone. Students waiting to complete their degree in the coming summer of 2015 were exhilarated with a job offer (some two) before their degree completion. The Placement Coordinator of Graphic Era, which encompasses Graphic Era Hill University and Graphic Era University, said that in addition to our previous placement of 480 students in Wipro and Infosys, Noida based Company US Tech selected a total of 28 students of B.Tech and MCA in the pool campus drive with Unisys Global slecting 18 students with packages of 2.4 Lakh Per Annum (LPA). MBA students on the other hand got placed in a Gurgaon based comapny with packages of 4.8 LPA.

    This placement drive, which started off in  November 2014 additionally has seen 280 students getting job offers from Infosys, 332 students being placed in Wipro Tech, 10 in HCL technologies, 9 in Smart Data, 20 in Nature's Green, 8 in TD Newton and Syscom each, 7 in Ceasefire and 9 in Webkul Software. Chancellor Graphic Era Hill University congratulated the students on this success wnd wished them all the best for their life ahead.

    Graphic Era University's annual fest kick started on November 1, 2014 amidst rapturous cheers with the Hon'ble Chief Minister - Uttarakhand, Mr. Harish Rawat felicitating the ceremony with his auspicious presence and commending Gaphic Era as truly working towards promoting education in the hilly regions of Uttarakhand.  Day 1 of Grafest was marked by enthralling cultural performances put up by the students of both GEHU and GEU.

    480 students of Graphic Era Group (2014-15) selected in Infosys and Wipro

    The Graphic Era Group once again established itself at the zenith with its high placement record. In merely two days, two highly reputed and eminent organizations of India, and the world, selected 480 students from the Graphic Era Group. This success at the very first stage of the placement procedure was even evident on the joyous faces of the selected students- all their dreams seemed to have come true on the receipt on a job offer even before their degree completion.

    Renowned international organization, Infosys, after several rounds of written assessments & interviews selected a total of 264 graduates from the Graphic Era Group encompassing Graphic Era University and Graphic Era Hill University. This selection included B.Tech students of Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, BioTechnology, Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering disciplines as well as M.Tech and MCA students. Subsequently, Wipro, too conducted an online assessment and several rounds of interviews after which 216 students were selected from where they will be deputed to various international and national projects.

    The results were announced by the Chancellor of Graphic Era Hill University and President of the Graphic Era Group, Prof Dr Kamal Ghanshala, to a cornucopia of joyous shouts. Prof Dr Kamal Ghanshala said that it was the hard work and the perseverance of the students alone that had borne fruit and was a direct indication of the high level and quality of education one received at Graphic Era. Prof Dr Ghanshala congratulated the members of the PDP team headed P A Anand comprising of Nishit Sinha, Gaurav Misra, Shreejata Dey, Divya Paul and Nishu Chawla as well as the Placement coordinators Amit Athwal and Rajesh Pokhriyal and the GEU team.

    The auditorium resounded with shouts of jubilation at the announcement of the placement details. Job offers from world renowned organizations even before their degree completion, made the students dance out with joy- the celebrations and congratulatory sweetmeats seemed to go on all night!

    The third day of the Achiever's Meet at GEHU saw representatives of various companies interact with students to enlighten them of the "mantras" to succeed in their professional life and encouraged them to innovate.     Having taken time out from her hectic schedule, "Balika Vadhu's" beloved Roop Durgapal aka  Sanchi visted Graphic Era after years of perserverance and spent an exciting day with members of the Graphic Era fraternity recounting her days when she herself was a student of Information Technology (IT) in Graphic Era. On passing out of Graphic Era in 2008 she got placed in Infosys via the "on-campus" placements but on realizing her passion for acting, she soon left the job to pursue her starry dreams. She also received commendation from Hon' Chancellor, GEHU- Prof Dr Kamal Ghanshala who recalled her as being extremely hardworking as well as a brilliant student. Roop Durgapal became so immersed in the events of the day that she herself came on the stage where she sang a famous bollywood song to thunderous applause.     Graphic Era becomes a community partner of Microsoft for the Massively Empowered Classroom (MEC)

    Microsoft has made Graphic Era Educational Society a community partner in their Masssively Empowered Classroom (MEC) intiative on account of the extraordinary performance of Graphic Era students. Senior Director of Strategy, Vidya Natampally reached dehradun to seal this community partnership with Prof Dr Kamal Ghanshala, Chancellor GEHU as well as to explain the various facilities that will be available to students in the Research Labs. An examination too had been organized for 198 Graphic Era students, who had performed well earlier - of these 81 students hailed from GEHU. As a result of this partnership, students of GEHU will get an opportunity to intern with Microsoft as well.

    Graphic Era Hill University saw young students from 7 countries come and interact with students of the University on an exciting cultural exchange program titled Global Village which was organized in the campus premises 12 noon onwards.

    The B.Tech Auditorium at Graphic Era University was on Saturday morning a centre of frenzy with students and interns gathered. The Chancellor of Graphic Era University, Prof R C Joshi initiated the event with words of encouragement to students to explore not only their potential but to match the global standards- he said at the event that students should take the opportunity to understand and work collaboratively with the world for their professional as well as personal growth.


    Graphic Era Group of Institute’s honorable president, Prof Dr Kamal Ghanshala spoke of the need of an international outlook to all students of Engineering, Management and Computer Applications and encouraged them to innovate by considering the global trends in computing and industry as a benchmark.

    Global Village in Graphic Era was organized in collaboration with AIESEC in Dehradun. This program was facilitated by the Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of AIESEC, Siddhartha Raju. The facilitators on behalf of Graphic Era Hill University was Ms Shreejata Dey Aggarwal . The gathering also saw Vice Chancellor- Graphic Era University, Prof V K Tewari, Vice Chancellor- Graphic Era Hill University, Prof Sanjay Jasola, and Pro Vice Chancellor- Graphic Era University, Prof A Awasthi.

    The interns from Morocco, Ukraine, Mainland of China, Egypt, Vietnam and Poland were mesmerized by the natural beauty of the GEU Campus and spent many hours blissfully touring the lush campus with state of art facilities.

This was the first time that all the 18 districts of Uttarakhand as well as Uttar Pradesh saw the Graphic Era Counseling happening simultaneously- Making optimal use of technology Graphic Era Group of institues saw all the above mentioned districts appear for online couseling at the same time. This proved to be most beneficial for students hailing from the hilly regions of Uttarakhand. A total of 409 seats were alloted in the second combined counseling of the Graphic Era group of Institutes.

    Graphic Era Hill University together with Graphic Era University saw a great crowd throng to the University Campus in Dehradun as well as the information centres in Haldwani for the first combined counseling for B.Arch and B.Tech aspirants for the Academic Year 2014-15. The first two days saw the counseling procedure go on late into the evening with 750 seat allotments with participants from 16 states across the nation vying for Mechanical, Computer Science as well as Civil Engineering seats, which seemed to be highly preferred by all aspirants.
