Aarohi Ramgarh

Graphic Era Hill University in their Community Outreach, participated in the 21st Grameen Himalayan Haat organised by Aarohi at village Satoli. The event features local arts and crafts and farm produce to support rural livelihood in the Kumaun region.

GEHU Bhimtal student members of the Dramatics Club presented a nukkad naatak that gave the message of promoting higher education for the girl child. Ms. Nidhi directed the play while Ms. Rashika Gurung counselled students and parents on higher education and told them about the University’s emphasis on providing quality higher education. She also told them how they could pursue higher education taking benefits of scholarships awarded by the University to residents of Uttarakhand and to girl students.

Student members of the Centre of Kumaun Culture and Heritage of the Bhimtal campus, Rahul, Mohit, and Yukta, demonstrated the traditional Kumauni art of Aipan at a competition held at the Haat. Yukta was awarded a prize for her artistic presentation. These students also interviewed the SHG members and other individuals at the event to understand the livelihood challenges faced by them. The students will be deliberating on the ways they can help enhance rural livelihoods.

The University supported the event by sponsoring prizes for the rural schoolchildren.
