Educational Visit at Srijan Spastic Society and Asray Sewa Samiti (for old age)

An educational visit to Srijan Spastic Society and Asray Sewa Samiti (for old age) was organized for B.Sc. Nursing 6th semester students on 5th March 2024. The students were accompanied by two faculty members Dr. Pratiti Haldar and Ms. Sapna Kunwar. On arrival to Spastic society for children, our students were briefed about the organisational setup, services delivered and objectives of the society by Mr. Nandan Kandpal, Secretary of the society. Following which Mrs. Shradha Kandpal, Principal of the society discussed about the various types of special children which are present in the society like Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Mental Retardation and Visually & Physically handicapped. Our students interacted with all the children, the special educators and physiotherapists present in the society.

The next visit was to Asray Sewa Samiti for old age (NGO) in the afternoon. On arrival the students were briefed about the samiti’s working, organisational setup, objectives by Mr. Prakash Dimri (Director). The samiti’s residents shared their experiences and stories with our students, about how did they end up here. Our students were astonished on hearing the bitter experiences and stories of all the residents of the samiti and they instantly developed a bond with them. All the residents of the society showered blessings on students and wished them to become good successful human beings in their life ahead. Our students also donated fruits for children of Spastic society and the elderly people of Asray Sewa Samiti as a gesture of humanity.
