On 7th May, the College of Pharmacy, GEHU Bhimtal welcomed students of the International Certificate Programme in Indian Socio-Cultural Environment with a traditional Kumaoni greeting, setting the tone for an enriching session ahead. The event commenced with a talk by Prof. Dr. Himanshu Joshi, the Principal of the College of Pharmacy. Dr. Joshi enlightened the students about the significance of Indian spices and tradition in maintaining good health.
He emphasized how these age-old practices serve as a treasure trove of wellness. Furthermore, the session delved into the pivotal role of pharmacy in modern healthcare systems. Students gained insights into the development and benefits of pharmaceutical drugs, enriching their understanding of the field. The event provided students with a hands-on opportunity to engage in the traditional art of applying Mehandi, on their hands. A highlight of the visit was the hands-on experience of preparing and learning about paan, a traditional Indian mouth freshener with therapeutic properties. This practical demonstration allowed students to appreciate the cultural significance and potential health benefits of this indigenous delicacy.
