Dr. Kumar received his doctorate in Entomology from G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar. Dr. Kumar has previously worked as a Post-doctoral fellow at the G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology Pantnagar in funded projects. Dr. Gaurava Kumar’s research area has closely been associated with conservation and management of honeybees, stingless bees, and other solitary pollinator bee species. He has developed first of its kind in vitro queen rearing technique for the stingless bees in India. Dr. Kumar has made significant contributions to entomology, particularly in the area of neglected stingless bee management, where he has designed and developed specialized hives. These novel hive constructions have proven useful in the efficient care and usage of stingless bee populations. Along with this, he has also been actively involved in insect pest management studies for the last 7 years where he has conducted research trials on innovative and noble approaches of insect pest management in different crops. He has the involvement in the development of innovative insect bait traps for effective monitoring of different insect pests.
