The Department of Media and Mass Communication, in collaboration with the Press Information Bureau (PIB), Dehradun, hosted an inspiring workshop at Graphic Era Hill University, Dehradun, aimed at fostering creativity and innovation in the media and entertainment industry. Key speakers included Dr. Kanchan Negi, who spotlighted the upcoming WAVES Festival (5th–9th February 2025, Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi),
encouraging participation in creative competitions like reel-making, animation, and drone filmmaking. Mrs. Sakshi Singh, Deputy Director, AIR & Doordarshan, emphasized preserving India’s traditional culture through media.
Renowned cinematographer Mr. Jaydev Bhattacharya mentored students on cinematography and documentary-making, while RJ Kavya from Oho Radio introduced opportunities in internet radio. Mr. Sanjeev Sundriyal and Prof. Subhash Gupta encouraged students to reflect India’s heritage in modern media.
An engaging quiz on WAVES added excitement, leaving students inspired and equipped to explore careers in the creative industries.
