Dr. Utpal Kumar Debnath served as the Controller of Examination at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. A seasoned academic administrator, he brings extensive experience from premier Indian Institutions, having previously held key positions such as Controller of Examinations and Registrar (In-charge) at IIM Mumbai, Indira Gandhi National Tribal University (IGNTU), Amarkantak, and the Central University of Rajasthan and as Assistant Registrar in IIT Kanpur.

At JNU, Dr. Debnath oversees the university’s comprehensive evaluation and examination system. Beyond his core responsibilities, he also leads and coordinates several important academic and administrative initiatives:
