Graphic Era Hill University organized an International Conference on Research Advancement in Multidisciplinary Sciences on October 18, 2024. The event featured guest speakers, including Dr. Jorg Overmann, Director of the Leibniz Institute DSMZ–German Collection of Microorganisms and Cell Cultures, Germany, and Dr. Avinash Sharma from the National Centre for Cell Science, Pune, India.
The conference was graced by the Honourable Vice Chancellor of GEHU, who emphasized the importance of research-oriented solutions and innovative approaches. He also highlighted the potential of AI in multidisciplinary sciences, encouraging participants to embrace the philosophy of being “a jack of all trades, master of one.”
Dr. Overmann delivered a lecture on bacterial speciation in the context of genome sequencing. He discussed the microbial community structures in various ecosystems, their prevalence in specific regions, and emphasized the impact of pathogenic infections on plants and animals, with a particular focus on antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Dr. Avinash Sharma spoke on career opportunities in research and shared key insights into developing effective research proposals.
