Dr. Taha Siddiqui is an academic, media trainer, and documentary filmmaker with expertise in media literacy, misinformation, fact-checking, and social media. She currently serves as Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Media and Mass Communication at Graphic Era Hill University, Dehradun. She is a certified ADiRA (AI for Digital Readiness & Advancement) Trainer, an international capacity-building program supported by the AI Opportunity Fund: Asia Pacific by AVPN, with support from Google.org and the Asian Development Bank. Through this initiative, she works to equip media professionals and communities with essential AI literacy to navigate the evolving digital and AI-driven landscape.Dr. Siddiqui is also a certified trainer with the Google News Initiative (GNI) India Training Network and part of the FactShala Media Literacy Program, supported by Google.org. She has conducted over 100 workshops across India, training more than 2,000 participants—including journalists, NGOs, teachers, SHGs, rural women, youth groups, and institutions such as the Indian Military Academy (IMA), ONGC, and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Dehradun. She holds a Ph.D. on “Media Trust and Rise of Fake News” and has published widely in reputed national and international journals on misinformation, digital divides, AI in media, Indian cinema, and media trust. She regularly presents her work at academic conferences and contributes to global scholarly forums.Her professional affiliations include being a Member of the South Asia Communication Association (SACA), San Francisco, a prestigious international body, and a Member of the Public Relations Society of India (PRSI), Dehradun Chapter.

Having a passion in filmmaking, her works reflect strong social commitment. City’s Step Child won over 30 national and international awards, while Dissent Overdose was screened at the Kerala International Film Festival, Indraprasth Film Festival, Gorakhpur Film Festival, and VIBGYOR Film Festival. She has also collaborated on international research projects with Prof. Christiane Brosius (Heidelberg University, Germany) and veteran journalist Satish Jacob (BBC).
