Visual Storytelling Mastery: An immersive workshop experience

The Media and Mass Communication department at Graphic Era Hill University recently offered an extraordinary experience to our new MMC students. The event featured Dr. Kamal Sharma, an acclaimed international photojournalist with notable coverage from the 9/11 attacks and major national sports events such as the ICC Cricket World Cup. Dr. Sharma shared his remarkable journey, life lessons, and behind-the-scenes insights, enriching students’ understanding of the art of Photojournalism. The workshop included a vibrant photo walk from the campus to the serene Buddha Temple, where students, guided by Dr. Sharma, captured the dynamic essence of street life and tranquil temple scenes. The interactive Q&A session was a highlight, sparking curiosity and opening new perspectives. Students also engaged in a creative activity - captioning powerful photographs - that added a layer of emotional and intellectual depth to their learning. This immersive workshop set a dynamic tone for their upcoming media careers.
