Mr Prateek Kumar | Faculty Computer Science and Engineering

Prateek Kumar is a Teaching Associate in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Graphic Era Hill University, Dehradun. He holds a B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (specializing in AI & ML) from the same institution (2024) and is currently pursuing his M.Tech under the supervision of Dr. Bina Bhandari.

 His research focuses on deep learning and few-shot learning for medical image analysis, with a specific emphasis on rare skin cancer detection using the ISIC 2019 dataset. His work involves comparative evaluation of Prototypical Networks and Siamese Networks, as well as exploring augmentation strategies such as MixUp and CutMix to improve model generalization under limited data conditions.

 In addition to his academic pursuits, Prateek has demonstrated strong leadership through his role as Head of IT Cell for the National Service Scheme (NSS) at Graphic Era Hill University, where he was also recognized as Best Volunteer and received the Corner Stone award. He represented his university during ONGC’s Saksham initiative in a technical support capacity.
