Dr. M. K. Nautiyal has worked as Director, Uttarakhand Council of Biotechnology for about three years. He was appointed as Joint Director in Breeder Seed Production Centre in April, 2023. He has served as Professor at G. B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar for more than ten years. He has eighteen years of experience as Seed Production Officer, seven years as Assistant Seed Production Officer, seven years as Senior Research Officer and less than one year as scientist in Mahyco (MNC). He has an additional charge of Associate Director (Seed) from 2006-2014. Dr. Nautiyal has taught eight courses and has guided eight Ph.D and ten M.Sc. students. He has attended more than thirteen trainings, twenty five workshops and fourteen radio talks. Not only this, he has been invited as subject expert in many government and non-government institutions and has imparted several trainings to farmers, students, researchers and scientists. He has developed ten varieties of rice, seven varieties of grain cowpea and one variety of jatropha. He has two germplasm registered under his name with NBPGR, New Delhi. One is Pant CMS 2A and Pant CMS 2B-Unique Cytoplasmic Genetic Male Sterile Line of rice (INGER-13002); and second is Pant CMS 3A and Pant CMS 3B-Unique Cytoplasmic Genetic Male Sterile Line of rice (INGR21001). He was instrumental in developing Agriculture seed portal for Uttarakhand in 2008 and has more than 20 articles, 50+ research papers, ten book chapters and two bulletins to his credit.
